Fabulous beauty tips

Courtney Leiva, a free-lance writer for www.jerseygirlsmag.com shares her fabulous beauty tips. In this economy, no one wants to pay big bucks for great skincare. Ditch the $50 products and check out these five inexpensive beauty tips you may have not even heard of.

White Eyeliner

Tired of looking half asleep? Wake up your eyes by trying one of the beauty industry’s best beauty tips; white eyeliner. Sported by models and celebrities alike, white liner not only makes your eyes look more awake, but helps smaller eyes appear wider and bigger. Just like you would line your lower eyelids with your favorite eyeliner, try using white eyeliner for a more polished look.

However, white eyeliner does not have to be expensive! Sephora.com makes a $5 pure white Nano eyeliner. Although it is relatively smaller, it still is a good price.

Lipstick as Blush

Ever think that your favorite shade of lipstick would work perfectly as a blush? Ponder this thought no longer as this trick is both a simple and easy one. Start, by carefully rubbing your fingers onto the tip of your lipstick. Then, gently massage the color into your cheeks.

Be sure to blend the lipstick onto your cheeks carefully and evenly, so you can avoid looking like a clown.

Baby Powder as Eye Primer

This trick comes from a pure accident, but if you’re a cat-eye, liquid liner kind of girl, this trick is a must. Before lining your lids with the liquid liner of your choice, dust your lids with some baby powder to get rid of any excess oil which causes your eye makeup to smudge. You’ll find that even after a few hours of application, your makeup will still be intact.

Homemade Exfoliate

Exfoliates are no doubt effective in removing dead skin cells from the skin, but they are also expensive. Some exfoliates, for example, cost over $50. For a cheaper yet equally effective alternative, mix olive oil and sea salt in a small bowl. Pour some of the mixture onto your hands and gently massage onto your face, then rinse your face with cold water. Once your skin is dry, you’ll find your skin softer, smoother, and a lot healthier. Since some exfoliates are harsh on the skin, try using this homemade exfoliate once a week.

Apple Cider Vinegar for your Skin

A good toner helps aid your skin in acne prevention, but like exfoliates you could be paying too much for something you could probably find at home. Apple Cider Vinegar works well as a toner, as it kills bacteria on your face. Using a cotton ball, dab some of the vinegar onto a clean washed face. Although the vinegar smells, you’ll sure see the difference as users say it helps in reducing skin inflammation and acne flair ups. Bottom line, if you have sensitive, acne prone skin, this trick is for you!
